Natalia Andrea Betancurt Callejas
Born in the city of Bogota,
Colombia on April 4, 1980
Starting her career at the age
of 6, Natalia appeared on runways and print campaigns as the exclusive model
for a children’s clothing brand. At a very young age, she began exploring her
interest in the arts by taking painting and dance lessons. By the age of 8 she
was committed to her singing and guitar lessons, which she complemented with
the writing of poems and ultimately songwriting.
At the age of 13 she was already directing the chorus of her private catholic school, Maria Inmaculada, as the first soprano; winning her the Voz Inmaculada contest [Immaculate Voice] from among the group of contestants. This triggered her love for the arts and she immersed herself in Music, dance, and acting. She wrote the music & set the plays for her school. The stage became her playground.
In 1995 she had her acting debut on the national sitcom named "Dejemonos de Vainas” as Monina, the American college cousin of the Vargas’ family. In 1996 she played the role of Totoya, the girlfriend of the cachaco in “O todos en la cama” broadcast through RCN Television. In “El dia es hoy”of Cempro Television, she played the role of Adriana. Also in the year 1997 she appeared as Julieta in the popular series “Leche” of Caracol Television. She played a role in Romeo y Julieta of RCN Television. In 1998 she played the role of Silvana in the soap opera “Carolina Barrantes” of the RCN Television channel. Also in 1998 she portrayed Monica in “Juliana que mala eres” from Caracol Television.
In 1999 she played the lead
role in “La guerra de las Rosas” of Caracol Television channel. She was
nominated for the TV y Novelas awards as best female lead actress for her role
of Rosa Maria. That same year she was nominated during the India Catalina
Awards as the best lead actress for the same role.
In 2000 she signed an exclusive contract with Caracol TV and starred in the Colombian soap opera Maria Madrugada. Natalia sang the soundtrack of the soap opera. Having recorded the track made Natalia fall in love again with music and recording. Maria Madrugada wrapped in 2002. In 2003 she was once again nominated for the India Catalina Awards in the category of best female lead actress, this time for her role in “Maria Madrugada”.
From 2004 to 2008, she
immersed herself fully in the music, vocal technique studies, writing and
composition. In 2008 she played the role of Juliana in the
international television mini-series “El Cartel de los sapos” at Caracol TV. In
2009 she started working on her Premier album TEKNARKIA, which she wrote a lot
of the songs in the album.
